Press Release: Everyone is pole dancing in Denver June 6-9 International Pole Convention

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pole dance, the sultry workout on everyone’s radar with J Lo’s upcoming moving, is swinging into Denver this June. More than a thousand women—and men—of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, and body shapes gather for the ninth annual International Pole Convention or simply “PoleCon” at the Westin Westminster June 6-9th.

Open to the public, the convention provides attendees with all-star performances; seminars; workshops with internationally recognized “pole stars”; opportunities for instructor pole and twerk certifications; plenty of time for networking and access to vendors representing the best products and services in pole, fitness, nutrition, wellness, and glamour apparel.

“Pole is everywhere now – in major movies, TV shows and even as fitness classes in your hometown,” PoleCon CEO Colleen Jolly noted. “The convention celebrates the diversity of the industry—the sport side, fitness side, art side, theatrical side, and of course, the sexy side.”

PoleCon offers events that range from non-stop diverse, pole performances including new this year, the “Para Pole Showcase,” for differently abled and chronically ill pole dancers, and also new this year the “Creepy Showcase” featuring the things that go bump—and grind—in the night. Attendees witness a reprisal of the popular “Youth Showcase” sponsored by the US Pole Sports Federation showcasing athletes as young as 14 with dreams of pole being an event in future Olympic games.

The perception of pole dancing is changing, and it has gained increasing popularity as a fitness exercise and mainstream entertainment by many enthusiasts in gyms and dance studios around the world. Not to mention being in featured in upcoming major movies!

“Forget the old stereotypes,” Jolly said. “There is new acceptance of pole being an accessible career choice, hobby AND something anyone can do as a fitness outlet.

“PoleCon’s goal is for everyone to see and appreciate the many facets of pole,” Jolly said. “The convention is a cross between an industry association-type convention and a public event. It is a place to come together, see all kinds of performers, learn from each other and grow.” Enthusiasts and interested persons from around the world including Australia, the UK, Japan Mexico and the Dominican Republic will attend, teach and even perform during the action-packed weekend.

The Weekend Pass ($195) provides an entire weekend of access to all events. The fun kicks off Thursday night with an opening reception and the Sexy Showcase (recommended 18+), showing the diverse styles of what it means to “be sexy” in the modern era. Lunch, included in the cost of admission, is served Friday and Saturday with breakfast on Sunday. Attendees under 18 participate with a parent or guardian at a discounted rate of $95 for the entire weekend.
